With the Miami Heat in the playoffs, basketball fever is spreading all over South Florida! Whether you are a fan of watching the game, or you enjoy participating in it yourself, it seems to be the topic of most conversations. Basketball is an exciting, fun and competitive way for you to exercise. Most basketball fans have heard of or seen the Harlem Globetrotters. If you don’t know, they are an exhibition basketball team that combines athleticism, theater, and comedy. They are the perfect combination of sports and entertainment, and now your kids can play along with them this summer!

Part of the Team

The Harlem Globetrotters are taking their skills to 24 Hour Fitness clubs throughtout Miami. The dates will run from June 17th through the 22nd. The sessions will last two hours and will feature Globetrotters ready to motivate, inspire and entertain the participating kids. Boys and girls ages 6-12 can participate, no matter the skill experience. This provides kids with a fun way to exercise and express themselves. Sessions will include autograph and chat sesions with the players, certificates of participation, and the best part – a Globetrotter nickname! Also included in the camps will be a ticket to see a Globetrotter show in 2014.

Destination Awesome

The summer basketball camp, or “Destination Awesome” offers more than just basketball coaching. Working together, kids will learn the importance of team work, relationship building and communication. These skills are ones that can be used both on and off the court. Topics they cover include bullying prevention and character development. This is also a chance for kids to work with real stars! You don’t have to be a member of the gym to participate. Even better, those parents who sign up their children will recieve a free 3 day pass to check out the facility!

In Miami

The camps will be featured all over the country, but for the Miami clinic schedules, click here! Now is the time to get on the court and get moving! Even if you don’t participate in the camp, you can always shoot some hoops and be active all year round!
